Kenshi Yonezu's 16th single is a double A-side featuring the theme song for the theatrical film “Chainsaw Man: Reze Chapter” and the ending theme featuring Hikaru Utada!

It has been decided that “IRIS OUT,” written by Kenshi Yonezu as the theme song for the theatrical film ‘Chainsaw Man: Reze Chapter’, and the ending theme for the same film, “JANE DOE” by Kenshi Yonezu & Utada Hikaru, will be released as a double A-side single.

Based on the manga ‘Chainsaw Man’, which has surpassed 30 million copies in cumulative sales and is currently serialized in the popular ‘Shonen Jump+’ (Shueisha). The author is the genius manga artist Tatsuki Fujimoto, known for hit works like ‘Fire Punch’, ‘Look Back’, and ‘Sayonara Eri’. In 2022, the TV anime adaptation produced by animation studio MAPPA (known for “Jujutsu Kaisen” and “Attack on Titan: The Final Season”) aired, garnering high praise not only domestically but worldwide. It has been distributed in over 200 countries and regions to date. The opening theme “KICK BACK,” written and composed by Kenshi Yonezu, achieved a historic feat by becoming the first song with Japanese lyrics to be certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Fueled by massive global response, it became a smash hit with over 200 million views for its music video, 140 million views for the anime's opening sequence, and cumulative streaming plays exceeding 500 million.

Now, the highly anticipated story connecting to the TV anime's finale, Episode “Reze,” is being adapted into a movie. The story follows protagonist Denji as he is swept up by the unpredictable fate of the girl Reze, whom he encounters by chance, depicted with the fast-paced battle action unique to MAPPA Animation. The film opens on Friday, September 19th. Starting in Japan, it will be released in over 50 countries and regions.
